Indian Health Service Offers Tribal Grants

The Indian Health Service (IHS) is accepting applications in June from Tribes for three different grant opportunities:

To June 23, the IHS Office of Tribal Self-Governance (OTSG) is accepting applications for Planning Cooperative Agreements for the Tribal Self-Governance Program (TSGP). The purpose of the agreement is to provide resources to Tribes interested in entering the program and to existing Self-Governance Tribes interested in assuming new or expanded programs, services, functions and activities. Also until June 23, the OTSG is accepting applications for Negotiation Cooperative Agreements for the TSGP. The purpose of this agreement is to provide Tribes with resources to help defray the costs of preparing for and engaging in TSGP negotiations. Until June 12, the Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training (BHWET) Program is accepting applications to develop and expand its behavioral health workforce serving populations across the lifespan, including in rural and medically underserved areas. Special emphasis is on establishing or expanding internships or field placement programs in behavioral health training for students/interns, faculty and field supervisors for communities in need.
