REDW’s Ron Rivera and Mike Tobiason Achieve Certified Value Growth Advisor (CVGA) Status
REDW LLC, one of the Southwest’s 10 largest certified public accounting and business consulting firms, is pleased to announce that Ron Rivera, CPA and Principal out of the firm’s Albuquerque office, and Mike Tobiason, CPA, CVA out of its Phoenix office, have received the certification of Certified Value Growth Advisor (CVGA).
Both recently received the certification from Corporate Value Metrics. The CVGA certification is a rigorous and comprehensive program inclusive of topics in the areas of planning, leadership, sales, marketing, finance, operations, and legalities. With the CVGA certification, both Rivera and Tobiason are now uniquely qualified to work with small to middle-market businesses in the development and execution of strategic planning as well as value growth initiatives. Utilizing the Value Opportunity Profile (VOP®) assessment tool and process, they can develop a prioritized roadmap of recommended improvement initiatives for REDW’s clients, which can allow for the implementation of the improvement initiatives by creating better alignment and balance in company operations. Those initiatives can also help in building quantifiable future value and improved performance outcomes for clients.
Ron Rivera, who served as REDW’s Managing Principal from 2001 to April 2016, has more than 30 years of experience in public accounting. He serves clients in a variety of industries and is skilled at both counseling retired individuals on estate planning and advising growing corporations on the tax consequences of their activities. He frequently acts as a consultant to business and nonprofit organizations on strategic planning and operational issues. Some of his other expertise includes succession planning for businesses, strategic and business planning for companies and individuals, and advising clients on mergers, acquisitions and consolidations.
Mike Tobiason, Practice Leader, Business Valuation Services, has extensive experience in valuing closely held businesses for a variety of industries and purposes. Mike assists buyers and sellers in evaluating price considerations, acquisition and divestiture structure as well as value enhancement opportunities. He has worked with many business owners in evaluating and developing exit strategies to achieve desired outcomes. Mike also has considerable experience in the area of litigation support services, including expert witness testimony, damages assessment, financial modeling and forensic accounting.
