REDW Welcomes Seven Professionals to the Team

April 11, 2017

REDW LLC, one of the Southwest’s 10 largest certified public accounting and business consulting firms, is pleased to announce the addition of seven professionals to its Albuquerque office in the first quarter of 2017: Jane Dempsey, SPHR, SHRM-SCP and Jennifer Tyler as Human Resources Consulting Coordinators; Gary Allison as a Training & Development Specialist; Alex Mercer, Jacob Morrison and Jakob Sena as Audit Associates; and Alicia Montoya as a Client Service Representative with the firm’s sister company Alliance Benefit Group (ABG) Southwest.

Jane A. Dempsey, SPHR, SHRM-SCP is a highly credentialed and seasoned Human Resources professional who brings over 15 years of broad human resource experience to REDW’s HR Consulting team, having served in a variety of roles for Federal contractors, as well as in private industry, for both manufacturing and professional services firms. Jane is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the Human Resource Management Association of New Mexico (HRMA). She is also a past member and former Board President of the Albuquerque Chapter of the National Contract Management Association (NCMA). In addition to a Bachelor of Arts in Management from the University of Phoenix, Jane has earned the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification, as well as the SHRM-SCP designation from the Society for Human Resource Management.

Jennifer Tyler brings a strong background in customer service and excellent communication skills to REDW’s Human Resources Consulting team, where she will provide support by developing comprehensive reports, policies and procedures, position descriptions, and organizational charts. Jennifer graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of New Mexico.

Gary Allison brings unique expertise to his new role as Training & Development Specialist serving REDW’s Audit & Consulting team. Formerly a Learning Center Program Specialist at the University of New Mexico, he was instrumental in institutionalizing his own comprehensive Learning Strategies program that helped dozens of student-employees, from undergraduates to PhD candidates, develop their potential in the areas of professionalism, collaboration, critical thinking, communication, research and data. As a skilled communicator himself, with extensive experience as a lecturer, presenter, workshop facilitator and panelist, he is ideally equipped to help his colleagues improve their capabilities in these areas.

Alex Mercer has rejoined REDW as an Audit Associate in early 2017 after earlier serving as an Audit Intern in the Firm’s Audit & Consulting department. He is now building upon his prior experience, assisting with single audits, performing test work for employee benefit plans, including 401(k) and defined benefit pension plans, and conducting internal control and substantive testing. Alex recently graduated from the University of New Mexico’s Anderson School of Management with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, and is currently pursuing his Master of Accountancy degree. He is a member of the National Association of Black Accountants.

Jacob Morrison has also rejoined REDW as an Audit Associate in early 2017 after previously serving as an Audit Intern. He is continuing to assist the Firm’s Audit teams in the Audit & Consulting department with financial statement audits for tribal governments and commercial clients, performing agreed-upon procedures for nonprofit organizations, and preparing indirect cost proposals. Jacob graduated cum laude from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

Jakob Sena joined REDW’s Audit & Consulting department in early 2017 after working as a student intern at Sandia National Laboratories in Internal Audit. There, he led an audit of the Labs’ conference management process to ensure compliance with contract requirements, federal regulations, and corporate procedures. Jakob has earned both a Masters and Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of New Mexico, and is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors.

Alicia Montoya joins ABG Southwest, bringing exceptional customer service experience to her new role as a Client Service Representative. In addition to serving a certified Customer Service Trainer for various regional airlines, as a Starbucks barista, and as a Customer Service Rep for FedEx, she has studied both Business Administration at Central New Mexico Community College and Science at New Mexico Junior College.
